I wanted to make the beard look wild and wooly but balanced with braids to give it a unique graphic style. His skin is rough and weathered to show his exposure to the elements and his battle scars. The cape’s fur clumps were also groomed to stand out and give him a hero look.

I designed the dragon’s skin pattern and its skin quality.

Fishlegs character incorporates skin, hair and fur; his skin has peach fuzz and looks soft and young in keeping with his youth. In contrast, his clothes are rough and somewhat dirty.
